Coronavirus in Hungary – Chief Medical Officer: Elderly care homes on path to recovery
The number of elderly care homes contending with Covid-19 has not increased, the chief medical officer said on Wednesday.
Fully 33 homes are infected, but patients and nurses are recovering and staff are able to return to work, CecÃlia Müller told an online press conference of the operative board responsible for containing the coronavirus.
Among the 5,991 caregivers working in 33 homes, 899 tested positive and 468 have recovered, she said.
Meanwhile, health-care services for non-corona patients are steadily expanding again as hospital wards closed in connection with coronavirus begin to reopen, Müller said.
Róbert Kiss, a member of the operative board, told the same press conference that the government will assess the status of the epidemic at its Wednesday meeting, and will make its decisions public on Thursday.

Regarding epidemic-related violations, Kiss said
police have so far taken action in 418 cases.
Fully 120 of those were cases of spreading fake news and 128 of fraud, he said.
